Ode

Definition: An ode is a piece of poetry or prose that is addressed to someone or something and which speaks with good feeling or respect.

In terms of topics, an ode can be to anyone or anything.  For example: “An Ode to My Eraser” or “Ode to McDonalds”, and so on.

Poetic Device #3: Simile

When we use a simile we say one that one thing is like or as something else.  We all use similes without realizing it.
